Michael A. Hymowitz, Partner
Attorney Michael A. Hymowitz is a specialist in marital and family law. He has over 20 years of experience in the field, first as a family court judicial law clerk followed by private practice. Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Marital and Family Law, Michael A. Hymowitz is also an AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney, a rating reserved for attorneys recognized as having achieved the highest level of professional excellence.
Mr. Hymowitz has a genuine concern for his clients’ best interests. He takes the time to truly listen to his clients in order to understand their goals, expectations, desires and even their fears as they go through the unfamiliar process of a family law case. He is equally patient when explaining to clients the law and their rights as they try to reclaim some control over their lives. His time as a judicial law clerk gave him a unique “behind the scenes” view of the family court judicial system and enables him to provide clients additional insight as to how judges view family law cases.
While specializing in family law, Mr. Hymowitz is also well experienced in areas of estate planning, probate and civil litigation. He has been called upon to serve as an expert witness in both family and civil court cases and he has been a repeated guest lecturer at Nova Southeastern University’s law school.
A skilled negotiator, Mr. Hymowitz strives towards resolving his clients’ disputes without the need for trial. However, when settlement is not possible, Mr. Hymowitz is a strong advocate for his clients in court. Handling cases involving some of the more complicated legal issues in Florida family law, many of these cases have resulted in important appellate court decisions that have established, defined or altered Florida law.
